11-5This book was a disappointment to me. I'm a C programmer who
wanted the chance to learn some C++ while doing a review. At the end
of this book I have little extra knowledge.
This book could have been subtitled C++ without the difficult bits. The trouble is it is exactly the difficult bits that I need. The book does what it sets out to do reasonably well - It leads the learner by the hand through very basic C++.
Simple input and output are covered, arrays, if blocks etc. There is a chapter on classes but with no mention of inheritance and then classes are largely ignored for the rest of the book.
In short - no meat.
