The slim Users Guide, which comes with the 3Com PalmPilot and family, describes the basic functionality of the device and the built-in applications. This book takes the Users Guide one step further. It is split into five main sections; the first, like the standard Users Guide covers the physical unit and its applications but in much more detail; the second section deals with PC connectivity; the third with some of the main 'alternative' functions that the device performs together with a short section on application development; the fourth handles communications (email, WWW browsing, faxing, etc.) and finally a section on troubleshooting and details of the many applications that are included on the bundled CD.

Throughout the book are useful Tips, these may be simple shortcuts for common tasks, ways of preserving memory, the batteries or the life of the screen, more detailed explanations of a particular feature or a note of commonly made mistakes. There are also similar Warnings, where performing particular tasks can disrupt stored data (to varyingdegrees).

The book, together with the enclosed CD full of applications and information is a good addition as a big brother to the standard Users Guide and worth it for many of the Tips alone.
