Note: when you create a new publication type, the articles module will automatically use the templates user-display-[publicationtype].xt and user-summary-[publicationtype].xt. If those templates do not exist when you try to preview or display a new article, you'll get this warning :-) Please place your own templates in themes/yourtheme/modules/articles . The templates will get the extension .xt there.

Hello James,
I just received my copy of C Vu (it takes some days to Switzerland...) and wanted to visit some links referenced Lois' standards report. It's a bit cumbersome to type all these complicated links... would it be possible to have the links from the ACCU publications online? An example of this service is the German magazine "c't", which puts online all links from current and earlier issues, see http://www.heise.de/ct/urls/

Thanks for the suggestion. There are clearly a number of ways in which C Vu can be enhanced by using the ACCU website to complement it. Some are already under consideration, but more ideas are always welcome. Some of them should see the light of day (or the light of a web browser) before the end of this year.James,
I would just like to say that I agree wholeheartedly with the chair's sentiments in the April issue of C Vu (which I have only just received due to a missing post incident). I say this as a full-time employee of a large company, which in this year's economic climate was not persuaded of the value of the conference. I therefore attended at my own expense, and in my own holiday time, and I don't consider a single penny or minute to have been ill-spent. With the coincidence with the standards meeting next year, and the opportunities that that presents (as if Stroustrup, Austern, Coplien, Sutter, Langer, Josuttis, Alexandrescu, Lippman et al were not enough), I hope that a lot more members will be encouraged to attend.

Thanks for that Phil; I agree with it all. The conference is really what persuaded me to join the ACCU in the first place. (Only now am I really paying for it!)Francis adds
I am grabbing the chance to give readers early information about next year. You already know that next year's event is April 2nd-5th at the Holiday Inn at the Pear Tree Roundabout on the Oxford bypass. We are doing the best we can to keep costs down and one idea we have is to guarantee your place at no more than this year's price if you are willing to make a £50 deposit in the next few months.
Please keep your eyes on the ACCU website for more information. I have already got a commitment from Tom Cargill (author of C++ Programming Style) to speak and there are many more to come. Some of these will be people that you would not normally get a chance to meet, listen to and swap ideas with. They do not travel to conferences but as members of either WG21 or WG14 will already be here and are willing to provide a rare speaking appearance away from their home ground.
