Note: when you create a new publication type, the articles module will automatically use the templates user-display-[publicationtype].xt and user-summary-[publicationtype].xt. If those templates do not exist when you try to preview or display a new article, you'll get this warning :-) Please place your own templates in themes/yourtheme/modules/articles . The templates will get the extension .xt there.

The following should have been a sidebar in Pete Goodliffe's Professional Programming but I could not get it to fit the jigsaw and so have relocated it here as a letter.
Dear Reader,
My Professionalism in Programming column has been running for over two years now. Perhaps it's a good time to remind ourselves what it's all about.
The ACCU exists to promote professionalism at all levels of software development. In these articles we're discussing what makes a programmer 'professional'. This isn't just professionalism in the sense of programming as a career, but more the professional attitudes and approaches we should be adopting.
The articles are aimed both at people who consider themselves professional and those who aspire to be. I hope that you enjoy and get something out of what I write here. Thanks to everybody who has replied to what I've written - I try to be deliberately provocative and want to generate discussion. I wish I had elicited more feedback than I have so far...
If there are topics you think deserve to be covered here then let me know.
Pete Goodliffe
