Note: when you create a new publication type, the articles module will automatically use the templates user-display-[publicationtype].xt and user-summary-[publicationtype].xt. If those templates do not exist when you try to preview or display a new article, you'll get this warning :-) Please place your own templates in themes/yourtheme/modules/articles . The templates will get the extension .xt there.

Hi Francis,
Can I clarify one point in Silas' article. The GUID (also UUID - Universally Unique ID) depends on the hardware (MAC) address of the network card, not the network (IP) address, which as Silas says can change.
The MAC address is supposed to be unique because manufacturers use address ranges from the IEEE. So, it should be that you need a network card installed, but not necessarily configured.
Best wishes

Thanks. I am always surprised by the number of people who do not know that every network card is uniquely identified. What I find very annoying is software developers who use this to as part of the installation process for their software. The consequence is that changing a network card (it is not working, I need to upgrade to something faster etc.) invalidates the software. Try explaining to a client why replacing a small, cheap hardware part has invalidated their licences on a whole bunch of software that they use daily.
I suspect this will become even worse as more people move to USB based hardware.
