So, what's on this average techie's RSS menu? I don't actually have a lot, but these ones are worth sharing:

I, Cringley: journalist and broadcaster Robert Cringley has inside industry information that must rival anyone else - he just picks up the phone and calls Steve Jobs, for example. Each week he has a unique and informed look at an issue affecting the computer industry.

Bruce Schneier, probably the worlds foremost computer security expert, has a blog updated daily with interesting pieces related to security - not always computer security, also real-world security. He's a refreshingly sane voice in a world filled with "security theatre". If you don't want to subscribe to a daily feed, there is also a monthly email newsletter.

It's not all work for me, and anyone with a sense of humour and a mathematical or scientific mindset will enjoy XKCD, a cartoon with characteristic stick-figures.

Although there is no RSS feed, I suggest that everyone subscribes to the irregular Risks Digest, where any risks related to automated machinery (e.g. computers) are discussed.

One more feed is my favourite tech news site. You will all have your own favourites, including possibly slashdot, ZDnet, the BBC, or even maybe The Register. Personally, I favour slashdot.
